Position Overview

The Communications Associate is an entry-level role designed to expand the capacity of the Housing Collective’s Communications team. This full-time position reports directly to the Senior Communications Manager and provides day-to-day support in implementing a wide range of communications strategies, including digital media, content creation, internal coordination, and partner outreach. • Uphold The Housing Collective’s brand standards and messaging framework.

Qualifications

  • Excellent writing, editing, and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Comfort with digital tools such as Google Workspace, Constant Contact, Canva, and social media platforms.
  • Demonstrated interest in communications, nonprofit work, housing justice, or social impact.
  • Experience with media, storytelling, or community engagement is a plus.
  • Commitment to racial equity, inclusion, and The Housing Collective’s mission.

Compensation & Benefits

This is a full-time, non-exempt position with a starting salary range of $50,000–$55,000 annually , commensurate with experience. We share the full range for transparency and to reflect potential growth over time; most new hires start below the maximum.

The Housing Collective offers a number of benefits for full time employees, including healthcare, vision, dental, long-term disability, retirement, and life insurance coverage, many of which are 100% employer paid.

The Housing Collective is proud to be an equal opportunity workplace. We celebrate, support, and thrive on diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees for the benefit of our team, our work, and our community.
