We are currently seeking a Global External Innovation Optimization Intern for Summer 2026. This full-time position works for approximately 37.5 hours per week.

Responsibilities:

Overview of Responsibilities: MBA Summer Intern - Business Development, Strategy & Operations

As a Summer Intern within the Global External Innovation Optimization (GEIO) team within Global Business Development, you will support strategic alignment and business operations excellence in Daiichi Sankyo's external innovation efforts. Working closely with the GEIO team and other business development colleagues, you will gain exposure to a broad array of business development topics such as aligning on external innovation priorities, engaging with innovation ecosystems, optimizing deal processes, and improving how the BD team leverages technologies including artificial intelligence.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Recommendations for External Innovation Priority Alignment
Help synthesize data and cross-functional perspectives into insights and clear strategic recommendations for senior leadership to support decision-making at the portfolio and individual external opportunity levels.

2. Innovation Ecosystem Engagement
Support mapping and engagement with external innovation partners, including startups, academic institutions, and incubators.
Contribute to tracking and analyzing emerging trends relevant to the company's therapeutic areas and R&D priorities.

3. Business Operations Evolution
Assist in the continued evolution of the Global BD department's operations, including process improvement initiatives.
Support preparation of performance updates, metrics dashboards, and portfolio reports.
Contribute to the continuous improvement of our learning and development efforts.

Qualifications:

Undergraduate degree, one year of business school, some pre-MBA relevant experience in the life science or consulting industry in either business development, strategy development & implementation, pharmaceutical development, and or project management.

Salary Range:
$17.23 - $58.15
