**Marine Electrician - North Island, Coronado - Career Opportunity**
**Job Description**
+ We are seeking a skilled Marine Electrician to join our team. You will utilize various hand tools to perform electrical tasks, including the use of screwdrivers, pliers, wire strippers, and voltage testers. Your role will involve the removal and installation of electrical system components such as overhead lights, receptacles, heaters, distribution panels, and speakers, all in accordance with technical drawings.
**Responsibilities**
+ Remove, install, inspect, repair, replace, troubleshoot, and test electrical equipment with minimal supervision.
+ Take and interpret measurements using tools like a 500 volt megger, clamp-on amp meter, volt meter, and strobe tach or hand-held tach.
+ Prepare, tie-in, and connect cables to switchboards and load centers.
+ Perform installation and wiring of switch boxes and internal components on a Navy ship.
+ Work in compliance with NAVSEA standards and read blueprints accurately.
**Essential Skills**
+ Proficiency in marine electrician tasks, including control panel and switch box installation.
+ Ability to run cables, perform installations, and troubleshoot electrical systems.
+ Experience with conduit, wiring, and working as an Electrician's Mate.
+ Knowledge of NAVY standards and procedures.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Minimum of 3+ years of marine electrical experience.
+ Experience with marine electrical habitability is preferred.
+ Prior experience working aboard a CVN Class Navy ship is advantageous.
**Work Environment**
+ The work is performed aboard various shipyard facilities in San Diego, CA, including locations such as Nassco, BAE, CMSD, North Island, and the Naval Base on 32nd Street. Shifts can start as early as 5 am and may extend up to 10-hour days.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of San Diego, CA.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $32.00/hr.
