Job Description

Jax Spine and Pain Centers is seeking a full-time PA for our Interventional Pain Management practice. The PA provides assessment, treatment and/or referral service for patients, education and/or training for patients, families, and staff and exhibits strong clinical skills to improve patient care. The successful candidate possesses excellent interpersonal relationship skills and the ability to effectively interpret and communicate health care information to the patient, family and the interdisciplinary health care team.

Primary job functions include the provision of direct patient care, consultation services and education of staff. Duties include providing diagnostic interviews and assessments for patients, initiating and expediting requests for consultations and scheduling special tests and studies. The PA is expected to demonstrate knowledge of established and evolving biomedical, clinical and social sciences, and the application of their knowledge to patient care and the education of others.

We are interested in applicants with or without orthopedic, spine, and /or pain management experience. Our practice utilizes a multi-disciplinary approach along with the latest treatment and surgical techniques. This position entails working in a very fast-paced/busy office.

The PA exercises independent and cooperative judgment, consults with the ancillary staff members, peers and other leaders as needed. The PA reports directly to the Clinical Director and then to the physicians. The physician assistant collaboratively participates in formal work groups, consultation, and program evaluation, research, and quality improvement initiatives.

• Attention to detail, excellent communication skills along with willingness to speak with referral sources are a must.
• Applicants must possess a current Physician Assistant license from the State of Florida.
• A Masters in Physician Assistant studies is preferred.
• Experience in orthopedics and/or Workers’ Compensation preferred but not required
