Job Title: Staff Accountant

Location: Navasota , TX

Duration: Full Time

Key Responsibilities

Primary Responsibilities (Initial Focus)

• Manage daily accounting operations, including transaction coding, AR/AP monitoring, bank and general ledger reconciliations, and cash-flow updates.

• Oversee bi-monthly payroll processing and ensure accurate timekeeping.

• Review employee expense submissions, verify supporting documentation, and process reimbursements promptly.

• Assist with cash-flow tracking and short-term financial forecasting.

• Prepare monthly management reporting packages and ad-hoc financial reports as needed.

• Partner with internal departments to prepare, refine, and distribute weekly and monthly client invoices.

Expanded Responsibilities (Growth Path)

• Take full ownership of the month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis.

• Develop and enhance financial forecasting models, cash-flow tracking tools, and internal reporting structures.

• Serve as the primary leader for accounting operations as the finance function scales.

• Train, mentor, and support future junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2 7 years of progressive accounting or finance experience.

• Strong understanding of GAAP, transactional accounting, and month-end close processes.

• Hands-on experience with AR/AP, reconciliations, payroll, and management reporting.

• Proficiency in accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Bill.com, Divvy/Ramp, Rippling, or similar platforms.

• Advanced Excel skills with the ability to build and maintain financial models and reconciliations.

• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and proactive-ideal for a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.

• Strong ownership mindset and willingness to take on a variety of responsibilities.
