We value the diverse talents and experiences our employees bring to Patterson and believe that they build a stronger and successful organization. **Job Description:** As an Accountant you will be responsible for the financial accounting & controls for the business. the primary responsibilities of the role will include facilitating the monthly close process and ensuring the proper maintenance of accounting controls and processes. **Essential Functions** To perform this job successfully, an employee must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily, with or without reasonable accommodation. To request a reasonable accommodation, notify Human Resources or the manager who oversees the position. + Support monthly accounting close process for the business. + Prepare key accounting analyses and related journal entries, account reconciliations and management reports. + Preparations of financial statistics and information at appropriate daily, weekly, and monthly intervals + Support business projects from an accounting and control perspective + Support a strong control environment. Hold self and others accountable for continuous improvement for internal controls. **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience + 1 year of experience in accounting or relevant industry experience + Strong knowledge of accounting principles and the ability to apply them to recurring transactions + Excellent prioritization & organizational skills to manage multiple deliverables + Verbal & written communication skills that provide direct, succinct messages and can be understood by financial and non-financial business partners + Ability to identify areas of improvement and work with management to optimize processes + Proficiency in MS Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint **Preferred Qualifications** + Previous experience with SAP + Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills This person must be located within a commutable distance to Mendota Heights, MN. The potential compensation range for this role is below.
