Silver Star Construction, a local road construction company - is seeking Heavy Equipment Operators to drive/operate and control large equipment and vehicles including bulldozers, backhoes, front-end loaders, scraper/tractor pans, track hoes, motor graders, mixers, and water trucks.

Requirements:

• Skilled heavy equipment operators with verifiable experience running either some or all of the following equipment: Grader, Dozer, Scraper, Track hoe, Mixer, and Front-end Loader.
• Unload equipment from vehicles.
• Knowledge of the machine settings.
• Maintain equipment functionality often.
• Keep performance record(s) of machine functionality regularly.
• Provide preemptive maintenance on equipment to prevent malfunction.
• Pre trip and post trip inspections/evaluations of the equipment.

Heavy Equipment Operator Skills:

• Hand and foot coordination.
• Good communication skills, both oral and written.
• Ability to work as a team.
• Strong critical thinking ability.
• High attention to detail.
• Ability to make decisions that prevent accidents and property damage.
• Physical ability to work in a strenuous work environment and strength to operate heavy equipment.
• Decision-making abilities.

Qualifications:

• Must pass the background check, and drug screen/physical.
• Must be willing to work outdoors in extreme temperatures, both hot and cold.
• Must be able to work nights and weekends when necessary.
• Must be able to work overtime when required.
• Must be able to perform physical tasks, such as bending, standing, crouching, shoveling, etc.
• Must adhere to safety requirements and procedures.
