Job Summary

NEBCO is looking for a high performing, results-oriented Web Design Intern to join our team for the summer of 2026! The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, hard worker, and reliable. This intern, under direct supervision, assists with the maintenance and optimization of websites. Gain hands-on practical experience in web development, content management, and digital marketing while supporting real-world web projects in a collaborative marketing environment. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. NEBCO has over 27 companies across the state of Nebraska, with opportunities for advancement and growth.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

Assists in maintaining website functionality by updating plugins and themes; tests thoroughly to ensure all features remain intact.

Ensures responsive design across devices by checking and verifying layouts on various screen sizes.

Helps identify and troubleshoot technical issues affecting website performance.

Supports content updates by uploading and formatting website copy, images, and other materials provided by affiliated companies.

Refreshes and modernizes older web pages using current best practices in design, SEO, and performance optimization.

Optimizes CSS for improved website loading speed.

Collaborates on implementing new technologies and features to enhance the user experience.

Analyzes website analytics and page speed, identifying and implementing improvements to enhance performance.

Uses tools like MOZ and Google Search Console to review and enhance site SEO and health.

Participates in A/B testing efforts to evaluate the impact of design and content changes.

Prepares and optimizes images for web use, focusing on load time and storage efficiency.

Helps configure and manage event tracking in Google Tag Manager.

Keeps business listings (e.g., Google and Bing) current with accurate information and updates.

Participates in user experience testing and gather insights for improvement.

Contributes ideas and conduct research for new site features or user interface improvements.

Provides general support to the marketing team with additional tasks as needed.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Web Design, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or a related field.

Other Qualifications:

  • Basic understanding of web development and design principles.
  • Familiarity with MOZ, Google, and/or Bing.
  • Understanding of responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
  • Experience with website analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics) preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of graphic editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or Canva) for web image preparation.
